Joshua Woodie’s passion for automotive technology sparked 23 years ago when he started out as a part-time installer in car audio. His desire to turn this passion into a career in automotive technology was fueled by his experiences competing in SQ/SQ+ competitions. The more Josh learned, the more he wanted to help others that shared the same passions as him. He loved seeing the smiles that he brought to clients’ faces when he completed installations.
During his 13 years in retail, Josh honed his skills in Car Audio, Fabrication, Vehicle Knowledge, Installation, Team Management, Mobile Satellite, and Sales. In 2009, he was recruited to join the technical support team at Firstech, makers of Compustar, Momento, and DroneMobile.
Since joining Firstech, Josh has taken on the roles of Assistant Technical Manager and National Trainer, playing a key role in earning Firstech seven consecutive Top Vendor Awards from the Mobile Electronics Association. He has spent the past 10 years training and supporting thousands of retailers and installers on how to sell, troubleshoot, and install vehicle remote start and security. These direct interactions with retailers and installers have also made Josh a key contributor to the development and validation of Firstech’s award-winning hardware solutions.
Today, Josh resides near Firstech’s headquarters in Seattle, Washington, where he lives with his wife, Ashley, and four sons. In his personal time, Josh works on his truck and his boat, but you can often find him answering installer questions on social media. Josh shares, “My wife wants to take my phone away because I’m always eager to help fellow installers, even after hours. I love what I do!”
